The worst performers of the session were Slater & Gordon Ltd (AX:), which fell 12.13% or 0.370 points to trade at 2.680 at the close. Liquefied Natural Gas Ltd (AX:) declined 11.56% or 0.170 points to end at 1.300 and Primary Health Care Ltd (AX:) was down 7.50% or 0.270 points to 3.330.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Australia Stock Exchange by 511 to 434 and 142 ended unchanged.

AUD/USD was up 0.06% to 0.7198, while AUD/JPY rose 0.02% to 88.41.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 99.17.
